In January, we launched a publicfacing version of our Unlock Your Leadership Potential Series, giving families direct access to our leadership development experiences. Held on Saturdays at the Stephen Terrell Recreation Center in Allen, TX, the eightsession journey ran from January 31 through April 11, 2026, guiding students in grades 8–12 through the core habits and mindsets of effective leadership.
The series opened with Integrity, grounding students in the importance of doing what’s right, keeping their word, and leading with honesty and courage. Students then explored Commitment, learning how discipline, optimism, and accountability fuel longterm growth. Early feedback was unanimous – 100% of participants reported a stronger understanding of how these skills support success at home, in school, and in future careers.
From there, students moved into a five-part exploration of Emotional Intelligence (EQ), beginning with Self-Awareness and Self-Regulation, where they practiced recognizing emotions, understanding triggers, and choosing thoughtful responses. Midseason, the focus shifted to Motivation, helping students tap into their internal drive and understand how purpose shapes resilience. Engagement remained high, with students demonstrating growing confidence and reflection.
The closing EQ sessions highlighted Empathy and Social Skills, providing students with strategies to foster relationships, convey their ideas effectively, and resolve conflicts. The last leadership module focused on Collaboration, encouraging intentional listening and collective goal-setting. This final session underscored that true leadership involves working together to create something greater than any individual could achieve alone.
Cumulative survey results affirmed the program’s impact:
- 97% gained a clearer understanding of how leadership skills support success
- 100% plan to apply what they learned
- 95% would recommend the series to a friend
We are grateful to every student who showed up with curiosity and commitment, and to every parent who made space for this growth journey. Special thanks to Allen Smile Design, Market Street, and Allen Alphas for helping bring this series directly to students and families.
Because of the strong interest expressed throughout the spring, we are now exploring opportunities to offer another Unlock cohort this summer at a new North Texas venue.
